Managing Director

Sarah manages Academy for the Love of Learning staff and their streams of work within the organization to ensure the smooth fulfillment of the organization’s vision and goals, as well as alignment with the Academy’s mission and values.

Sarah has spent over 25 years as a director within non-profit marketing, development and educational programming. A Midwest native, Sarah has worked all over the country and has been a passionate advocate within animal welfare, public television, public gardens and civil liberties. Sarah developed the nation’s first young friends program for the ACLU as a means to engage a younger population with the mission of the national organization, a program now incorporated by dozens of ACLU affiliates around the country. Sarah currently sits on the board of the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society and has been an active volunteer for many local organizations devoted to animal welfare for over 30 years. Sarah created the first national online animal adoption website designed for animal shelters to promote their adoptable pets. In addition to her work and volunteering within non-profits, Sarah is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and is an active practitioner of Chinese acupuncture and herbs, licensed in New Mexico and Colorado.

Sarah moved to Santa Fe in 2015 and has since been enjoying the beautiful natural offerings of New Mexico, including hiking, camping and gardening.
