In 2015, the Living Story Collective brought together 25 creative facilitators from diverse communities in a process, informed by the Academy’s transformative learning model and depth facilitation practices.

In our upcoming Phase Two of this project we will convene for a two-day gathering during which creative engagement facilitators can share place-based, effective practices and experiences; communicate about the power of the work and its potential to heal our communities; innovate new forms and engage a new generation of practitioners, as well as new communities with the intention of catalyzing change.

“I would say this is the safest place I have felt I have been in a long time. There was a kind of excitement to be here, walking into this room there is almost a giddiness because it feels that there is a potential of hope in this space.” -Daniel Banks, co-founder of DNAWORKS.

“To bring so many practitioners together on an ongoing basis across one season is rare. It has prompted me to think through different ways that I can approach my own work.” -Mi’Jan Celie Tho-Biaz, Cultural worker and visiting Research Scholar at Columbia University
