El Otro Lado Experiential Training

The power of personal and collective story transforms our communities

This two-day training guides participants through a creative process for a deeper understanding of the El Otro Lado methodology and the pedagogical practices of the Academy for the Love of Learning. Participants will leave feeling inspired, connected to other educators and change-makers and prepared to take with these story-based experiences to back their communities and classrooms.

The El Otro Lado training is an experiential two-day workshop based on the El Otro Lado curriculum guide that contains 17 bilingual experiences that are ideal for working with students, families, elders, schools or any community setting. Come join us in learning about the power of personal and collective story to transform our communities.

El Otro Lado engages people in the creative process by exploring our human connection to the land, our sense of home and belonging, and our sense of boundaries and cultural divides. Through the El Otro Lado creative experience, we find our stories have the power to touch others, build understanding, and restore the world and ourselves. By discovering and sharing personal and collective stories we reactivate our learning skills and build empathy and a deeper compassion for each other and the world around us.

COSTS

Training Only:
Total cost $575: Includes training, 2 breakfasts/2 lunches/snacks, and materials with a pdf of the curriculum guide *Attendance is required for both days.

Training+ Lodging: (Space is limited):

Total cost $675: Double occupancy plus training, 2 breakfasts/2 lunches/snacks and materials with a pdf of the curriculum guide.

Total cost $775: Single occupancy (upon availability) plus training, 2 breakfasts/2 lunches/snack, materials with a pdf of the curriculum guide.

Registration:
A $200 deposit is required to register.

The remainder of the total amount will be DUE by July 14, 2017. You will receive more information about the training, lodging, travel, and payment options in an email upon receiving your registration and deposit. Please note: If you must cancel, your deposit is refundable ONLY if we are able to fill your place with another registrant.
