An Introduction to the El Otro Lado Program
Event Details
During the El Otro Lado Introductory Evening, you will experience a taste of the El Otro Lado curriculum by exploring our stories through artistic poetry. In the second part of the evening, we will answer questions including information about the participation fee and scholarship for our 9-month training program. The El Otro Lado training program is designed to support facilitators as they implement the El Otro Lado program in their school or community setting.
Here’s what one of our former participants had to say about an El Otro Lado workshop:
“The gathering was a breath of fresh air! It was nice to learn and participate with a group of like-minded colleagues. I loved that we learned through the framework we will be using in the classroom and that we were able to explore and MAKE art!! My favorite however, was learning about the focus for El Otro Lado…. the pedagogy aspect excites me beyond words! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this opportunity!!”
This year we are opening El Otro Lado to schools and community organizations throughout Santa Fe and our surrounding communities. Our short video introduction shares our early work with Santa Fe Public schools and provides a glimpse into the program.

“We all have a story worth telling, worth listening to, worth remembering. If we are willing, that story will take us to the other side, where we will find ourselves whole again.”
