El Otro Lado in the Schools Cohort Gathering

During this all day gathering the eight teams of Teaching Artists and teachers come together to share the El Otro Lado experiences in the classroom to learn from one another in the framework of the Academy pedagogical theory. El Otro Lado in the Schools brings classrooms alive through story-based, arts-rich experiential learning in Santa Fe Schools. El Otro Lado matches classroom teachers with community artists to engage in a yearlong exploration of family identity and culture, sense of home and belonging, and unique stories. Through sharing stories, teachers and students learn to see each other in new ways.
