I Saw The Mystery: Lifesongs In Concert 2016
Lifesongs Concerts are the culmination of months of creative collaboration between elders artists, community members, youth and people in hospice. The performances celebrate the voices of our elders, the insights gained at end-of-life, and the extraordinary alchemy of intergenerational creative exchange.
This year, our spring concert, I Saw The Mystery, will feature elders and staff from the Santa Fe Care Center, students from the Santa Fe Waldorf School, and the New Mexico School for the Arts, community members of our Lifesongs Creative Ensemble, singers from The Santa Fe Opera’s Young Voices program, the University of New Mexico Children’s Choir, Lifesongs facilitating artists, and the Lifesongs House Band, featuring some of Santa Fe’s finest professional musicians.
Lifesongs was founded in 2007 by The Santa Fe Opera and Littleglobe under the leadership of Acushla Bastible, Andrea Fellows Walters, and Molly Sturges. Our founding partner was Christine Sandoval from the Santa Fe Care Center. In 2011, Lifesongs became a program of the Academy for the Love of Learning in partnership with Littleglobe.
This year is the first year we are selling premium tickets for $100 each. By purchasing a premium ticket you are helping us to provide free tickets to elders and other community members, and to keep the general admission ticket price low and accessible. Most importantly, premium ticket buyers are supporting the sustainability of Lifesongs Concerts, which are deeply meaningful to the elders, students, community members, artists, and audience members touched by this work. All premium ticket buyers receive a copy of the new Lifesongs CD, Love is Here: Songs and Poems from the Heart.
