Join Academy for the Love of Learning staff, David L. Witt, project curator and author of Ernest Thompson Seton: The Life and Legacy of an Artist and Conservationist and Donato Jaggers, managing director to tour the castle ruins and see the progress of our restoration. We’re delighted to show you that the rustic, eclectic, façade, has now been lovingly restored, so that it appears much like it was long ago when first built by Seton.

We will also offer a special preview of the new Ernest Thompson Seton Gallery at the Academy Center. The gallery will display paintings and drawings made by Seton as well as books and artifacts from his personal collection that have not been seen by the public in many years. If you loved the Wild at Heart: Ernest Thompson Seton exhibit at the New Mexico History Museum, this preview is an intimate opportunity to hear stories about Seton and to learn more about his work and its impact on our world.

Learn about how the Academy for the Love of Learning now carries forward Seton’s legacy of learning and teaching in the natural world. Find out how Seton’s story of personal transformation is an example for the Academy’s programming; and its work with individuals and organizations. We are next embarking on a long-term land use plan that embodies sustainability, community engagement, and re-imagining education.

NOTE: Please be ready to meet David L. Witt and Donato Jaggers at the bridge entry by 10:00 AM
