Date: Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017
Time: 6:00 PM- 7:30 PM
Location:

Psychiatrist Stanislav Grof and his wife, Christina, developed Holotropic Breathwork™ from their explorations of contemplative and religious traditions, shamanic practices, and consciousness studies. Their work evolved from Grof’s observations from his years as Chief of Psychiatric Research at Maryland Psychiatric Research Center. During that time he recognized the healing potential of expanded states of consciousness, as well as an opening to a process of transformation and change. Holotropic Breathwork is an experiential, transformative process that invites a gentle but profound encounter with our internal territories. It offers a means of exploring unfamiliar aspects of self in a way that is direct and inviting of new understanding and possibility.

Academy faculty member Marianne Murray is a certified Holotropic Breathwork™ facilitator. She facilitates the Academy’s retreats with Diane Haug, who has worked with Grof for three decades. Marianne will be at this informational evening to answer questions.

The Academy for the Love of Learning has been offering a 4 day Holotropic Breathwork™ retreat twice a year. If you would like to learn more about this work this evening will provide you with all the information you need to know.
