1 year, 7 schools, 9 classes, 10 teachers, 11 teaching artists, 235 students, countless stories…

El Otro Lado in the Schools (EOL) is a program of the Academy for the Love of Learning that brings comprehensive, arts-rich experiences to classrooms in Santa Fe Public Schools and Charter Schools. The program matches classroom teachers with teaching artists to engage in a collective creative process with young people that explores their connection to land, culture, sense of home and belonging, and their own unique story. Throughout the school year Teacher/ Teaching Artists teams participate in a yearlong process of specialized training and reflection.

In response to the growth and popularity of the program, this year El Otro Lado instituted an application process for Teachers and Teaching Artists. Out of 21 applications, 9 teachers were selected and paired with a group of highly skilled teaching artists. We are so pleased with this year’s cohort and are honored to introduce them.
