El Otro Lado (the Other Side) is a collaborative arts and community engagement project that explores the stories of our connection to the land, our sense of home and belonging, as well as our sense of boundaries and cultural divides. Participants discover that their stories have the power to touch others, build understanding, and heal themselves and the world around them. One student noted, “I had never been asked to tell my story before, and it felt good to know it was important.” Another said, “I have a complicated story, but for once I am being asked about my story.”
