Join us for a day of giving
As the Academy for the Love of Learning’s new Development Coordinator, I want to invite and encourage you to join the largest movement of inspirational giving around the world on this #GivingTuesday, November 29, 2016. The Academy provides exceptional outlets for transformational and positive work in the community with its Institute for Teaching and Foundational Programs as well as El Otro Lado, Lifesongs and the Seton Legacy Project. #GivingTuesday is about ordinary people coming together to do extraordinary things, and the Academy’s programs continually strive to cultivate life-affirming, sustainable patterns in the social fabric of our culture.
El Otro Lado in the Schools is transforming lives on multiple levels. A recent participant in El Otro Lado’s Journey Map workshop at the La Cosecha conference stated: “What a way to not only open my heart, but also peek into another human being’s heart. I will cherish these moments for the rest of my life.” Another experienced “a self-guided journey to discover your inner self.” El Otro Lado is changing the cultures of our classrooms and nurturing connection, empathy, and respect. Through sharing their stories, teachers and students learn to see each other in new ways and discover the power to touch others and restore understanding across boundaries and cultural divides.
This year, we are providing the opportunity for sponsoring specific El Otro Lado activities. Participating on #GivingTuesday with the intention of sponsoring a teacher, teaching artist or student provides immediate positive impact for classrooms and communities in Santa Fe.
